THE STYLE LEAGUE

The region’s premier designer store and Premier League football club have marked three years of close ties and proved no one can beat them in the style stakes.

As the 2008/09 season drew to a close, Harvey Nichols Birmingham again provided players and directors at Aston Villa FC with a range of specially tailored Paul Smith suits.

The squad will pair the new navy blue suits with the club’s tie – designed by Harvey Nichols – which picks up on the classic claret and blue but adds a designer twist one would expect from the leading luxury department store.

“Over the last few years, fashion followers have grown used to footballers being our modern-day trend-setters,” explained Kevin Breese, General Manager of Harvey Nichols Birmingham. “They are the men we now look to, to see what’s hot and which labels we should be wearing.

“This kind of high profile fashion collaboration with such an historic club as Aston Villa shows that Harvey Nichols really does dress the leading sportsmen in the UK. Our relationship with the club is very much a case of the best in the Midlands, being dressed by the best in the Midlands.”

Manager Martin O’Neill added: “Looking professional both on and off the pitch is vital to our success as a team. Harvey Nichols continues to ensure that the lads look completely professional when they arrive on match days.”
