Birmingham’s International Jazz Festival kicks off this week, with more than 160 performances (145 of them free) across a host of venues around the city. Celebrating its 25th year, the celebration of music kicks off on Friday (July 3) with Millennium Eagle Jazz Band at the Mailbox from12.30pm. Running until Sunday July 12, other shopping venues include Piccadilly and Great Western arcades, Birmingham Indoor Markets, Borders in Bullring, Selfridges and House of Fraser. Two new Bullring stores are set to open their doors to shoppers this month. Name It will offer a range of trendy clothes for mini fashionistas, and will be situated on Level 1 of the centre. Designer clothes store Footasylum will also trade from Level 1 and boast a selection of footwear and fashions for the label conscious.
Selfridges hosts its Heat Wave summer beauty event next week, featuring exclusive promotions, expert advice on make-up tips and how to create the perfect beach body, and competitions. The event on Thursday July 9 runs from 5pm until 9pm and will also have entertainment by the Steve Steinhaus Jazz Quartet as part of Birmingham International Jazz Festival and professional Latin American dancers will perform routines. Ticket holders will also get a complimentary cocktail on arrival and a goody bag. The night Tickets cost £10 (redeemable against any beauty purchase on the night) and are on sale now on any of the beauty counters on level 3.
