Ruth Crilly has been announced as the face of Pavilions

With a career that spans almost 10 years and reads like a Who’s Who of fashion, Birmingham born international model and beauty blogger Ruth Crilly has really modelled for some of the top names, including Vivienne Westwood and Patrick Cox along with being photographed by icons such as Rankin and David Lachapelle.  Despite this jet-setting lifestyle, Ruth has always remained passionate about her home city.

Since featuring as a newcomer in a 2003 documentary called ‘This Model Life’ with fellow Birmingham-born supermodel Erin O’Connor, Ruth’s modelling career really took off and despite commuting to London on a daily basis for a few years, she eventually had to move full-time to the Big Smoke.   As she puts it, “Birmingham International at 5am was a regular sight for me but I soon became so busy the only option was to move to London permanently.”

Excitingly, Ruth is finally returning home to Birmingham and this September will see Ruth strutting her stuff on the catwalk in a very different role as she takes centre stage to host Pavilions’ fashion shows, as part of the Style Birmingham Live weekend on Friday 24th – Sunday 26th September 2010. Along with the daily fashion shows, Pavilions will also be offering four exclusive ‘Pamper Pods’ which will include free makeovers from L’Occitane and DestinationSkin along with the chance to win goodie bags worth £200 throughout the weekend.

As well as appearing during the Style Birmingham Live weekend, Ruth is fronting a major, new campaign for Pavilions.  As the ‘face’ of Pavilions Birmingham Autumn/Winter 2010/11 campaign she has starred in the centre’s Hollywood inspired fashion shoots, with clothes from Pavilions retailers including Hobbs, Marks & Spencer and LK Bennett styled in a modern day tribute to the great Hollywood stars of the 40s and 50s.

“I love the feeling of familiarity when coming back to Birmingham and regularly visit my friends and family here. The city has definitely changed a lot though over the last few years! I think it is fantastic how vibrant the shopping scene is and that there are major events like Style Birmingham Live that showcase fashion for all ages and tastes.  I am absolutely delighted to be involved with Pavilions Autumn Winter campaign and really look forward to trying on all the latest styles from shops like Hobbs, LK Bennett and M&S.  No doubt my credit card will be taking a bit of a battering.”

Ruth Crilly will be appearing at Pavilions shopping centre as part of the Style Birmingham Live weekend 24th-26th September.
