LFW IS BACK, AND THIS TIME IT’S DIGITAL

Today marks the start of an exciting week in fashion as LFW kicks off at Somerset House.

This month’s event is set to go down in history, not least because it is the first without Mr Fashion Week himself, Alexander McQueen (RIP Lee), but also as the style set moves into the digital age.

This year, the event is making it easier for us all to get a slice of catwalk action with live streaming of some of the biggest shows, including Burberry Prorsum, Betty Jackson, and Sass & Bide.

Not content with sitting our new web editor at a computer screen, we’re sending her down to the Capital to mix with the glitterati and report back on Birmingham-born designer Osman’s brand new collection.

Now based in London, Osman has been a big hit in the fashion world since his SS10 pre-collection was sold exclusively in Browns. He then went on to produce a stunning high street range for Mango and is now returning to LFW. Osman’s celebrity fans include Dannii Minogue, Thandie Newton, Mary Kate-Olsen, Anna Friel, Mischa Barton and Lily Cole. We’ll be sure to report back if spot any of them on the front row!

It may not seem like we’ve shaken off last year’s winter yet but the Style Birmingham team will be keeping tabs on the trends for Autumn/Winter 2010 over the next week so keep checking back for our LFW Diary.
