FAQs

Here’s some of the frequently asked questions about the show and information, however if there is something you need to know which we haven’t covered, do get in touch, either via the contact page on the site or via Facebook or Twitter and we will either post the answer on here or get back to you personally.

When will the tickets be sent out and will the lanyard, pass and show itinerary be included?

Your Town Hall catwalk show ticket and your event pass will be sent out from 5th September 2011 onwards. Included with your ticket will be a fabulous ‘fold-out’ shopping map of Birmingham city centre together with your laminated Gold or Silver pass and show leaflet (plus a lunch voucher for guests that have purchased a Gold VIP ticket). Please note there will not be a show itinerary posted to you as we really want you to have the most accurate information and as we are adding more offers and activities in the run up to the show, we will be publishing all of the up-to-date information on stylebirmingham.com for you to download or print off just prior to coming to the show. Copies will be made available on the day at various venues and centres for guests who are not able to print off their own copy before arriving. We will also be posting regular updates on Facebook and Twitter, please follow us @stylebirmingham. You will be able to collect your Style Birmingham LIVE lanyard for your pass on the day from The Mailbox when you collect your designer shopping bag.

How do I collect the designer shopper bag?

We are delighted to announce that internationally renowned Birmingham born designer, Osman Yousefzada, who now shows at London, Paris, Milan and New York  Fashion Weeks, has designed a limited edition Osman Yousefzada shopper bag just for Style Birmingham Live visitors and it will be available to collect from The Mailbox during the event. The collection point will be on Level 5, near to the escalators which take you up to the food and bar area. Please note this is not a ‘goody bag’ with sample products, but is of higher value as a limited edition designer shopper bag.

How will it be shown that I have collected my bag and additional treats listed on my pass?

Once you have collected your bag our Style Birmingham LIVE staff will ‘clip’ the appropriate section on your lanyard pass. This will also happen if you have purchased a Gold VIP ticket and receive your additional benefits, such as your complimentary gift and champagne in The Mailbox VIP Lounge, plus your meet and greet with George after your Town Hall Catwalk Show.

Can I still buy Gold VIP tickets this year?

Yes but we only have a limited number per show as they are all on the front row. They include lunch at a participating venue, access to the VIP lounge at The Mailbox plus a ‘meet and greet’ with the show host George Lamb.

How will the ‘meet and greet’ work with George?

If you’ve bought a limited Gold VIP ticket, directly after your timed catwalk show at Town Hall you need to go to the first floor circle bar at Town Hall. George will be there to sign autographs and our official photographer will take your picture with George and we will upload photos to our Style Birmingham Facebook page for you to tag your details and download/print off. For those not on Facebook we will upload pictures to the stylebirmingham.com website after the event. There is no additional charge for the official photo and to ensure that everyone wishing to meet George is not kept waiting too long please note it will not be possible to take pictures on your own camera or phone, it will be strictly one official photograph per person/group of friends. The queuing system will be in place within the area to ensure everyone gets their photo with George and Style Birmingham LIVE staff will be on hand to assist. Please note strictly only Gold ticket holders from the immediate show beforehand will be allowed access to this VIP area which will be managed by security. The circle bar area will not be open to standard ticket holders.

Is there courtesy transport this year?

No, unfortunately it’s not been possible to offer this service, however this year’s ticket offers terrific value and extra benefits. The main shopping streets and centres will be dressed with branding and flags to clearly identify particpating venues, plus staff will be on hand to guide you around the city centre.

What’s the Style Q&A after the catwalk show?

We asked our visitors from last year’s show what they would like to see extra this year and many responded by saying ‘more fashion and styling advice’. Therefore we have brought back to Birmingham the wonderful Bradley Taylor. Many of you may have seen Bradley at Bullring with Myleene Klass a couple of years ago. Previously Head of Visual Merchandising at Selfridges Birmingham, Bradley is now the global Visual Manager for Mulberry (he’s the man responsible for all of the amazing Mulberry windows and displays in the top stores around the world) and is incredibly knowledgeable about the world of fashion, major brands and how you can make the looks from the show work for you. George will be out with you in the the audience to get you to fire your style questions to Bradley, so get your questions ready for the show, you can ask them both anything…. (the best one will receive a special prize from George) and it’s going to be great fun!

Can I bring a camera to the Catwalk Show?

Yes! We’d love you to bring a camera to get your own pictures of the show and the whole event, capturing the fun you have with your friends and we’ll be asking you to send the best ones in to us at stylebirmingham.com and upload them to your own Facebook pages, as we’ll be creating a fabulous ‘after-show’ photo competition for the best ones!

Can I bring a friend who hasn’t got a ticket?

Of course, but bear in mind they will not be able to see the main catwalk show hosted by George Lamb or receive some of the offers and treats specifically for ticket holders at partcipating stores. There could be some tickets still available from the Town Hall Box Office on the day, however tickets are selling quickly and we would urge you to purchase tickets prior to your visit to ensure you have tickets for the show.

Can I buy tickets without a booking or transaction fee?

Our ticket agents at www.theticketfactory.com and www.thsh.co.uk apply their own standard booking and postage fee to cover costs for tickets booked online. However if you book in person at the Symphony Hall Box Office at the ICC in Centenary Square, Birmingham you will not pay a booking fee.

Do I need to buy a ticket to see the show at Bullring?

You can view Bullring’s show from the balcony areas in the centre without buying a ticket, however Bullring will reserve some seats for Style Birmingham LIVE visitors subject to availability. You are urged to get their early prior to the show time you would like to see (see the Event Planner section of this site for timings) and the SBL staff will do their best to seat you. The show will take place outside Debenhams and due to the restricted space available no seats are guaranteed (including Gold VIP).

Do I need to buy a ticket to see the show at Pavilions?

Similar to the Bullring Show, you can see the show at Pavilions without a ticket, however some seats will be reserved for Style Birmingham LIVE visitors subject to availability.

What do I wear?

We’d love you all to look super stylish and really feel part of a glamorous day out, as you never know when you may get papped! There’s so much to do, just make sure you wear something you feel comfortable in to be ready to hit the shops (after seeing George of course!)

Can children attend the event?

Children can attend, however all under 14s must be accompanied by an adult/parent/guardian when visiting the main catwalk show at the Town Hall (other venue restrictions may also apply).  The show may not be suitable for younger children as it will feature very loud music, lighting effects and will be an uninterrupted show for approximately 30 minutes without a break, followed by an entertaining fashion led audience participation ‘Q&A’ with George Lamb and celebrity stylist Bradley Taylor. The value in the ticket price is aimed at an adult audience. We ask that you look at the show details on this website to decide whether the show is suitable for your child.
