Keeping pace with its fashionista neighbours in Birmingham’s Mailbox, the centre’s Bang & Olufsen store has launched its own new season collection – and these audiovisual head-turners are sure to keep you cool in the summer sun.

Among the prestigious Danish brand’s latest product innovations is BeoSound 3, a portable music system that’s the ideal summer accessory when enjoying a picnic in the park, a patio barbeque or lounging on the beach.

This robust portable radio, clock and digital music player – perfect for music lovers on the move – has a rechargeable battery and carry handle which means you can take it anywhere.

And although BeoSound 3 has a slim, tower-shaped exterior – styled by award-winning designer David Lewis, who was recently made an Honorary Fellow by RIBA – inside is a beefy, precision-built loudspeaker that delivers outstanding acoustic performance.

Attracting admiring glances on the communications catwalk is Bang & Olufsen’s EarSet 2, a Bluetooth headset harnessing breakthrough audio technology.

Bang & Olufsen acoustic experts have devised a special microphone which filters out noise disturbances and gives a cleaner, sharper sound. This coupled with its Bluetooth hands-free operation and light weight (a mere 22 grams) makes EarSet 2 ideal for in-car communications.

Advanced audio processors are also used in the EarSet 2. This allows the user to hear the exact reproduction of the voice of the other person on the line, including a full ‘vocal weight’ and tonal characteristics. This has been a traditional weakness of standard mobile phones and headsets. EarSet 2 works with Bluetooth products, including Bang & Olufsen’s unique Serene mobile telephone.
